Hello and welcome to another issue of Menu Magazine. This year is a very exciting year for us, as our parent web site www.westcoastcafes.com.au turns 10 years old. This issue of Menu Magazine, we travel to Bunbury to check out Barbados and Casellas. I have been told so many times who Perth’s coffee experts are, so we put it to the vote and tell you who the industry experts think are the ‘Who’s Who’ of coffee in WA. I hope you enjoy this issue of Menu Magazine, get out there and try what Perth has to offer! |
| ISSUE EIGHT
In Issue 8 of Menu Magazine we again review some of the best restaurants in Perth, introduce you to some new ones and revisit old friends. We also thought we’d teach you a thing or two by welcoming you all to our “Education Issue”. We’ve covered cooking at home, perfecting the perfect drop in your abode and teach you a little fashion etiquette in our “What to Wear When” fashion spread. Publisher Scott Arnold-Eyers’ take on his whirlwind food safari through Malaysia. And speaking of culinary excursions we caught up with former Masterchef contestant Trevor Forster who recently opened his new venture Capricci’s on the Rockingham foreshore. So cheers to another jam-packed issue filled with plenty to see, eat and try throughout the silly season and beyond. Bom Aproveito! |
| ISSUE SEVEN
Issue 7 of Menu Magazine we visit some of Perth’s fantastic cafes and restaurants and tasted some great drops of red and white. We researched the growing industry of drive-thru coffee and met some true kid connoisseurs, who enjoy a change from the typical kid’s menu. Everything from truffles to tea is covered in this jam packed issue, as well as our regular columns, book and music reviews. There’s also a chance to win a trip for 2 to Malaysia, so take a break and enjoy a wine or two as you sit back with the lastest issue of Perth’s premier wining and dining guide. |
| ISSUE FIVE
In issue 5 of Menu Magazine we explain what’s going on with the Fair Trade and Organic certifications, and explore what the differences are between brasseries, bistros and burger vans. We did some research into how music affects the way we eat and came up with some pretty radical stuff - I’ll never listen to café music the same way again! Speaking of music, check out our CD reviews - there’s some great beats to be heard. And hey - have you tried cat poo coffee yet? We spoke to someone who has, and it turns out it may not be the dog’s bollocks… There’s all of this and a whole lot more in this issue - enjoy! |

Want to know some answers about what’s happening in the Perth cafe scene? We look at some current issues such as whether to talk on mobile phones in cafes, and what’s going on with the new liquor licensing laws. Whether mobile phones should be used in cafes or restaurants is fairly straightforward but the new liquor licensing laws are downright confusing! We’ll divulge to you who Perth’s best barista is, as well as Perth’s craftiest beer brewer. Take a step back though history with us to see what Perth’s cafes were like over 50 years ago. We have a great new weight loss scheme that may provide that extra motivation you’ve been looking for, and we also give you the inside scoop on just who should order and what to order when you’re out and about. There’s all this plus detailed info on Perth’s best dining venues, wine, the latest books, CDs, cool products and more. |
